Bio and Research
Originally from Queens, NY, I received a BA in Classics at Temple University, an MA in Philosophy at the University of Western Ontario, and my PhD in Classics from UofT. My interests are in Greek and Roman philosophy and science and their intersections with ancient culture. My dissertation offers a reevaluation of Cicero’s reception and interpretation of Plato within the paradigm of Hellenistic philosophy.
Currently I am working on two projects that develop from this work on Cicero. First, I am embarking on a study of the reception of Plato in Hellenistic philosophy more broadly, especially among the Stoics. Second, my future project looks at the interaction between Plato and Roman religion in figures like Cicero, Apuleius, Plutarch, and the Latin Fathers.
