Bio and Research
Originally from Queens, New York, Matt did his BA in Classics at Temple University in Philadelphia and his MA in Philosophy at the University of Western Ontario. He studies Greek and Roman philosophy. He’s interested in the development of and interactions between different traditions in Hellenistic and post-Hellenistic thought. Matt specializes in Cicero’s philosophical works and is completing a dissertation on Cicero’s reception and interpretation of Plato within the broader paradigm of Hellenistic philosophy. In addition, he maintains an active interest in the history and philosophy of science, and a less active interest in Homer and ancient religion.
