Bio and Research
Jackson Hase earned an Honours BA in History with a Certificate in Ancient and Medieval Latin from the University of Saskatchewan in 2019; he was the top graduate in History, the Humanities, and the College of Arts and Science. During this degree, Jackson also managed the collection of ancient numismatic materials for the on-campus Museum of Antiquities. Based on part of his undergraduate research, Jackson co-authored an article in 2019 on early 20th century numismatic collecting practices for Oxford’s Journal of the History of Collections entitled “Collections to think with: Collecting, scholarship and belonging in the R. E. Hart collection (Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery).” Jackson is currently pursuing a PhD in Classics in the field of Ancient History at the University of Toronto. His research interests focus on topics of readership and communication in the ancient world, especially among Christian ascetic circles in late antiquity.
