Bio and Research
Ethan completed his honours bachelor’s degree (2019) at Dalhousie University, where he majored in Classics and also obtained a minor in Contemporary Studies from the University of King’s College.
His honours project considered the relationship between potentiality has with actuality and motion respectively in book Theta of Aristotle’s Metaphysics. His work in Contemporary Studies largely centered around intergenerational memory in the wake of the Holocaust.
In the final year of his undergraduate degree, Ethan ranked third in the 2019 Canadian National Senior Ancient Greek Sight Translation Competition. Also in 2019, he received the Nicole Knox Award for Excellence in Translation from the Dalhousie Classics department.
Currently, Ethan is researching the relation between knowledge, eros, and divinely-inspired madness in the works of Plato.
