Doing Classics: A Workshop in Historical Methods 2
This 1-day graduate student workshop took place on March 16, 2018 at Kaneff Centre, Room 2213, University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), led by Professor Neville Morley (University of Exeter). More information can be found here.

The Fidelity of Fides: Authenticity in the Classical World (Graduate Student Conference)

Imperial Landscapes: Empires, Societies, and Environments in the Ancient to Modern Nile Delta
What was the significance of the Nile Delta within the successive empires it belonged to from the Pharaonic to the modern period? Complementarily, how did imperialisms shape the region’s socio-environmental dynamics in the longue durée? These are the two, complementary questions the conference Imperial Landscapes: Empires, societies, and environments in the ancient to modern Nile Delta proposes to examine. This 2-day conference took place on March 23-24, 2017 in the Department of Classics at the University of Toronto and featured talks by sixteen historians, archaeologists and philologists from North America, North Africa, and Europe. Doing Classics: A Workshop in Historical Methods
This inaugural 1-day graduate student workshop took place on March 10, 2017 at Kaneff Centre, Room 2213, University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) and featured sessions by Professor Michele Salzman (University of California Riverside) and Professor Greg Woolf (Institute for Classical Studies, University of London). Philosophies of Flavian Literature
This 1-day workshop took place on March 4, 2017 in the Department of Classics at the University of Toronto and featured talks by Antony Augoustakis, Sarah Blake, Emma Buckley, Claire Stocks, and our very own, Alison Keith. Professional Associations


UPCOMING CONFERENCES

Classical Association of Canada (CAC)
Each spring, the Classical Association of Canada (CAC) holds an annual conference hosted by a different Canadian university each year. In addition to the presentation of individual papers and panels, the annual CAC business meeting takes place. The 2018 CAC Annual Conference will be hosted by the Department of Classics and Religion of the University of Calgary from May 8-10, 2018.

Society for Classical Studies (formerly the American Philological Association)
Every winter, the Society for Classical Studies holds a joint meeting with the Archaeological Institute of America. This year, it was held in Boston, MA, January 4-7, 2018. Next year’s sesquicentennial meeting will be held in San Diego, January 3-6, 2019.
